Mantis

Careers · Sales & growth

Sell the layer that predicts a person.

We have one opening, and it's the one that matters most right now: the person who takes Mantis to market. Medical sales background, hybrid in New York, and a hiring process that can be done inside a week.

$85–110k base salary
15% commission on first-year contract value
New York hybrid — you need to be in the city
2+ yrs medical sales experience required

Why this seat

You'd be the first commercial hire, not the fifth.

Mantis builds living, predictive models of individual people — pre-symptomatic illness detection, decompensation forecasting, adherence prediction — and sells scoped, consented access to those predictions. The technology works. What it doesn't have yet is someone who owns the revenue side of it. That's this job, and it comes with the latitude that being first implies: you'll set the pitch, pick the segments, and build the pipeline from nothing.

01

An honest product to sell

We don't sell data — we sell scoped, revocable predictions with the person's consent. You will never have to talk around what happens to a patient's information.

02

Evidence in the deck

Every claim traces to peer-reviewed work: 81% of COVID cases flagged before symptom onset, a measured 93% ceiling on behavioral predictability. You're selling published results, not vapor.

03

Uncapped, and paid on it

15% of first-year contract value on everything you close, on top of base. Healthcare contracts are large. The math works in your favor.

Open roles

One job. Four titles, depending on how you'd describe yourself.

The listings below are the same underlying role, the same requirements, and the same compensation. Sales people describe themselves differently, and we'd rather you pick the title that fits than talk yourself out of applying. Choose whichever one reads like you.

Medical Sales Representative

New York · Hybrid · Full-time

The classic full-cycle seller. You know the clinical buyer, you're comfortable in hospital and provider procurement, and you can carry a technical product through a long medical sales cycle without losing the thread.

Account Executive

New York · Hybrid · Full-time

Own named accounts end to end. Closing matters, but so does what happens after: you'd run onboarding, keep the relationship warm, and grow the account once the first contract is signed.

Growth Lead

New York · Hybrid · Full-time

Top of the funnel is the constraint. If your instinct is to build the pipeline — find the segments, open the channels, generate the meetings that don't exist yet — this is the version of the job for you.

Account Executive & Growth the whole thing

New York · Hybrid · Full-time

Honestly, this is what the job is. You generate the pipeline and close it and keep the account alive afterward — outreach through renewal, no handoffs, because there's nobody to hand off to yet. If you've done all three and want all three, apply here.

What you'll do

  • Manage the sales pipeline — build it, qualify it, forecast it.
  • Manage client relationships once they're signed.
  • Close new business.
  • Onboard and educate new clients on what a prediction from the twin actually means.
  • Everything from the initial outreach through maintaining the account long-term.

What you need

  • At least two years in medical sales. This one is firm.
  • Plus one of these two: a degree in computer science, or hands-on experience working specifically in medical — in which case your application needs to show the sales experience behind it.
  • Real numbers you can state: total volume you've closed, and how many distinct buyers you've closed it with.
  • Based in New York, in the office part of the week.

Compensation

$85,000 – $110,000 base, depending on experience, plus 15% commission on the first year of every contract you close. Healthcare contracts are not small, and the commission is not capped.

How we hire

You can be hired by the end of the week.

We're a small team with one seat to fill and no reason to drag it out. Submit a complete application and we'll move at whatever pace you can.

  1. Step 01

    Apply

The form below: your numbers, your résumé, and a short video. Fifteen minutes if you have your figures handy.

  2. Step 02

    Call with the founder

Thirty minutes, usually within a day of applying. Your track record, and every question you have about the product.

  3. Step 03

    Sell us something

One working session. You walk us through a deal you ran, and we'll hand you our actual pitch to poke holes in.

  4. Step 04

    Offer

References, then a decision with reasons either way. For a strong application starting Monday, that's a Friday offer.

Apply

Show us the numbers.

We care more about what you've actually closed than where you've worked. Have your figures ready — total volume, number of buyers — and be specific. Everything here is required.

Required — one to two minutes of video

Record up to two minutes explaining exactly why you want to work for Mantis. You're applying for a sales job, so treat it as one: this is the closest thing to a live pitch we'll see before we meet you.

  • Two minutes, maximum. One is fine. We stop watching at two.
  • Unpolished is fine. A phone in one take beats anything edited. We're listening to how you talk, not watching a production.
  • Paste a link, don't attach a file. Loom is fastest — record in the browser, copy the link. Unlisted YouTube, Google Drive, and Vimeo all work.
  • Check the sharing setting before you send. If we can't open it, we can't consider it.
The role is hybrid in New York — you do need to be in the city.

Your track record

Two years minimum for this role.
Career total in dollars. An honest estimate is fine.
Distinct people or accounts you've closed, not total deals.
Product, buyer, deal size, cycle length. Name the hardest sale you ever closed and what made it hard.
Degree, field, and school. If you don't have a CS degree, tell us about your medical experience instead.

Résumé and video

PDF or Word, up to 3 MB.
One to two minutes. Make sure anyone with the link can view it.
We read every application and reply either way.
